original oyster paintings
about me
A native Savannahian, Elizabeth Slater has always called the south Georgia coast her home. Her fondest memories include beach days on Tybee Island, crabbing from the family dock on the Grove River, enjoying oyster roasts with her family and friends, and living on St. Simon’s Island. Elizabeth’s middle name honors her maternal grandmother, Rebecca Felton Meyer, who taught Elizabeth her love for the coast, and thus provided the name of her artistic venture, Meyer Slater. Her grandmother dreamed of owning a “shack on the water” one day. It is Elizabeth’s goal to bring a piece of coastal nature inside everyone’s home through her drawings, all in homage to her grandmother and all that she was to so many.
